About Us

Our primary goal is to give you a "go anywhere" family dog you can truly enjoy. As you read about us please take notes and compare our training credits. We're sure you'll find our credits are well suited to accomplishing our goal for you.

While others earn certificates for taking courses and attending classes we went further earning ours by training dogs and having that training qualified.

We've earned 63 recognized titles including 11 at the graduate level, Utility. We've actually trained to the highest titles available, the AKC Utility Dog Excellent and the most prestigious title in all of dogdom, the AKC Obedience Trial Championship. Our dogs have been in the awards over 700 times and have earned many other certificates and accommodations including 9 Dog World Magazine Awards for Training Excellence. When this level of experience which very few others have is put to work on the family dog, great things happen. That's another reason SJMagazine named us #1.

Along with earning recognized titles we've participated in a number of canine activities such as the Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Programs. Our own dogs have earned CGC Certificates en route to their titles and two are Certified Therapy Dogs. We've also trained dogs that are full time resident therapy dogs, one of which was nominated for Delta Society Dog of the Year. These are dogs that must exhibit their very best behavior on a 24/7 basis.. We also have experience helping clients with physical inconveniences train their dogs to assist them in their daily activities. One of these dogs is among the very few owner trained Certified Service Dogs in the country.

Before moving to NJ we taught classes for three different training groups, ran a private boarding and training kennel specializing in canine problem behavior and training dogs for owners that were unable to do so themselves, we also gave private and group instruction at the kennel.

Our involvement with dogs is more than a business venture, it's total. Our dogs are part of all we do. When not with them we are usually active in an organization that involves them.

We regularly attend seminars and clinics to enhance our ability, we've been invited to give training clinics to Rescue Organizations, Shelters and Clubs. We've been associated with projects that have been published in National Magazines such as Off Lead and the AKC Gazette. We presently write a correspondence column for a National Trainers Magazine, Front and Finish.

(As an additional note our lives away from dogs have provided many of the skills we use as trainers and instructors. Irene as a Jr. and Sr. High Language Teacher. Carl before going to the dogs full time split his training time with retail management where he was responsible for the training and development of several hundred field associates.)
